Senior Executive Service
The 2-Page SES Resume is the total application now. Our Senior Writers will coach you on the ECQ Accomplishments and the writing of the 2-page resume. After the 2-Page SES resume, our consultants will prepare you for the QRB Structured Interview.
THE PROCESS
How the SES service works
A senior executive writer coaches the whole application, from your first list of accomplishments to a package built to the OPM Qualifications Review Board standard.
Assess your materials
Whether you are starting with your basic executive resume or your previous SES ECQ application, all 21 pages of it, we introduce the new format and the new ECQs and begin with short accomplishments matched to them.
Draft your Top Ten Accomplishment List
The service begins with your Top Ten list of leadership accomplishments from the last ten years, which you draft first so the narratives are drawn from real, recent evidence.
Write and edit short ECQ and TQ accomplishments
Our senior executive writers craft your 2-page SES resume with accomplishments matched to the new ECQs and sub-competencies, and to the MTQs in the announcement. Each statement carries specifics, metrics, and CCAR information, usually 40 to 60 words.
The five Executive Core Qualifications.
Every SES application is judged against the OPM Executive Core Qualifications, updated in the August 25, 2025 Guide to the SES and Qualifications Review Board. We coach a narrative for each.
Commitment to the Rule of Law and the Principles of the American Founding
Demonstrated knowledge of the American system of government, commitment to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, and commitment to serve the American people.
Driving Efficiency
The ability to cut wasteful spending and pursue efficiency through better process and technology.
Merit and Competence
The knowledge and technical competence to produce work of exceptional quality, reliably.
Leading People
The ability to lead and inspire toward the mission, drive a high-accountability culture, and lead people through change.
Achieving Results
The ability to achieve individual and organizational results aligned to stated goals.
The ERB and the QRB interviews are a test. Prepare and practice for the interview.
The structured interview predicts performance from your past behavior, and your answers are systematically scored. Professional coaching before the interview can dramatically raise your chances.
-
Format
Two pages, 10-point body, half-inch margins. Every accomplishment has to earn its line, with the emphasis on your last ten years.
-
SES
The two-page SES resume has to carry the new ECQs, the announcement’s MTQs, and your career history. We write both formats.
-
Screening
OPM now tells HR to review resumes with AI and to write announcements with it. The announcement’s keywords have to appear in your resume. We build that list.
-
Questionnaire
Each announcement now carries its own assessment questionnaire. We make sure your resume covers its questions before you SUBMIT.
-
Language
No more “tasked with” and “served as.” Every line opens with an action verb, and keywords from the announcement are mandatory. We build the keyword list.
